Technical Coordinator-Joinery
The Technical Coordinator plays a vital role in the woodworks industry, overseeing the technical aspects of projects from Bid to Handover. This position requires a blend of managerial skills and technical expertise to ensure that all the project scope is executed effectively. The Technical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that projects meet the required specifications and standards.
The responsibilities generally fall into these key areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study the project’s specification, identify and evaluate material properties and characteristics to guarantee a thorough comprehension to project and design requirements.
- Review and analyze technical documents, including engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication procedures, for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve technical discrepancies and issues.
- Liaise with the suppliers, send inquiries and ask for technical information, compliance statement, test reports, certificates, physical samples or any other technical support.
- Prepare comparison & recommendation, taking into consideration the technical and commercial aspects such as specifications, quality, delivery time, technical remarks, historical detail, and costs.
- Prepare technical submittals in accordance with project requirements; follow-up until approval is granted.
- Collaborate with other relevant departments like; design, quality control and procurement and ensure approved materials are procured, delivered and processed as specified.
- Implement the quality control procedures for material procurement, fabrication and installation. Investigate and address any technical-related issues or non-conformances identified during operations.
- Provide technical advice and support to other engineers, contractors, and production personnel regarding compliance to project requirements, material selection, production and installation methods.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in woodworks industry.
- In-depth knowledge of joinery operations, materials, and quality standards.
- Experience with CAD software and other design tools.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, technical drawings, and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with quality assurance standards and practices in manufacturing.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in conducting inspections and tests using various measurement tools and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills in English and collaboration skills.
